A wine cooperative and its vineyards planted for 30 or 40 years embody the concept of the long term, the desire to plan ahead, to build. That is the very essence of the cooperative adventure!
Since 2026, the Galhyos wine cooperative has been certified “Coopérative SO Responsable” and committed to CSR at confirmed level. This integrates the three fundamental pillars of sustainable development: environmental, social and economic.
This collective initiative is led by a committee made up of winegrowers and employees, determined to build a more virtuous viticulture. Our programme, named DEMAIN, symbolises our corporate strategy and our determination to move towards ever more responsible production. It is built around several major areas of action.
Our winegrowers’ approach is rooted in the long term, respecting ecological balances and promoting sustainable practices.
As early as 2014, we introduced mating disruption, a natural method of vine protection that limits the use of plant protection products—particularly insecticides—by releasing pheromones to disrupt and prevent the reproduction of grapevine moths.
In addition, more and more winegrowers are choosing to move towards organic farming, thereby meeting growing demand for organic wines. This strategic direction makes Montagnac Domitienne a key player in this rapidly expanding market.
Today, 81% of our vineyard (1,620 ha) is engaged in the High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. This approach guarantees practices that respect biodiversity, water management and the reduction of inputs. Our goal is to achieve a fully certified vineyard in the years to come.
Les Vignerons de Montagnac Domitienne are convinced that the future of viticulture lies in a sustainable and responsible approach. Our actions are part of this momentum, with an ongoing commitment to environmental protection, economic development and the fulfilment of our winegrowers.
Together, we are building the vineyard of tomorrow—respectful of its terroir, innovative and driven by excellence.
Our winery is also involved in the Terra Vitis certification, a label recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture. It has 388 ha of certified vineyards. This certification promotes sustainable viticulture that respects people, nature and wine. It embodies our commitments and our determination to produce quality wines while respecting our ecosystem.
The Galhyos wine cooperative is certified “Destination of Excellence”, a state label that recognises the quality of hospitality, services and commitment to sustainable tourism. This distinction reflects our determination to offer a quality wine tourism experience, based on attentiveness, visitor satisfaction and respect for our environment.
In 2025, the Galhyos wine cooperative is stepping up its commitment to the environment and its local area by rolling out its overall environmental strategy Energy, Carbon & Climate and developing its wine tourism trail “Arts et Nature”.
Aware of the challenges linked to climate change and the preservation of biodiversity in our local area, we plan to develop several significant actions for the economic development of the territory, respect for natural resources, and the autonomy and resilience of our farms. These actions are supported by the Hérault Méditerranée Agglomeration and the Occitanie Region, through the Territorial Cooperation scheme (2023-2027), which helps support local projects promoting economic development through projects aimed at the agricultural transition.

This support, covering 60% of eligible expenditure under the call for projects, has enabled, among other things, the implementation of actions linked to:
